Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is a broad-spectrum, mineral-based UV filter that works by sitting on the skin’s surface and reflecting UVA and UVB rays. Unlike chemical sunscreens, it is non-irritating and photostable, making it ideal for sensitive or post-treatment skin. In AgeBiome™-compatible care, zinc oxide may be used to protect freshly exfoliated or microneedled skin without disrupting the barrier or biome.
Why It’s Used:
- Provides immediate, physical UV protection
- Covers both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) wavelengths
- Gentle and non-comedogenic for reactive or inflamed skin
- Ideal for use after active skin rituals or clinical treatments
- Supports prevention of photoaging and pigmentation rebound
- Biome-safe and often paired with calming actives
What It Means for You:
Zinc oxide gives your skin a clean, calm shield against sun damage, especially when your skin is most vulnerable after a ritual.
