Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the practice of removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells to improve texture, tone, and active ingredient absorption. It can be achieved chemically (with AHAs/BHAs) or physically (with tools or scrubs). In AgeBiome™ rituals, exfoliation is used in the Reset phase to clear biological buildup while preserving the skin’s microbiome and barrier integrity.

Why It’s Used:

  • Clears surface debris and buildup from the stratum corneum
  • Prepares the skin for deeper penetration of serums
  • Stimulates cellular turnover for smoother, brighter skin
  • Helps reduce clogged pores and texture irregularities
  • Used strategically to support DEJ and follicular renewal
  • Must be balanced with nourishment to protect the biome

What It Means for You:

Exfoliation gives your skin a clean slate—so every active ingredient that follows can work more effectively, revealing clarity and glow.
