Exfoliation
Exfoliation is the practice of removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells to improve texture, tone, and active ingredient absorption. It can be achieved chemically (with AHAs/BHAs) or physically (with tools or scrubs). In AgeBiome™ rituals, exfoliation is used in the Reset phase to clear biological buildup while preserving the skin’s microbiome and barrier integrity.
Why It’s Used:
- Clears surface debris and buildup from the stratum corneum
- Prepares the skin for deeper penetration of serums
- Stimulates cellular turnover for smoother, brighter skin
- Helps reduce clogged pores and texture irregularities
- Used strategically to support DEJ and follicular renewal
- Must be balanced with nourishment to protect the biome
What It Means for You:
